Martina Wember read communication studies at the Berlin University of the Arts as well as communication design at Berlin Weissensee School of Art and Design after finishing her apprenticeship as a printer. She is working as an illustrator and cartoonist in Berlin. Her style is minimalist and associative; her focus lies on reduced lines, often with an ironic feel. Martina Wember has been working as an illustrator for the German dailies Tagesspiegel and taz, the German magazine brandeinsWissen as well as various publishing houses and agencies. A number of her books of drawings have won awards from Stiftung Buchkunst and from Art Directors Club NY. In 2009, her poster »B_parks« was awarded the gold medal at the CODE competition for Berlin. Her latest artistic book »sweethome« was bought by Moma NY in 2013.
